Sisters Heather Wittig and Jenni Patnode share with us about the birth of their nonprofit Pink Box Purpose, which has provided love, care, and support of young women through the distribution of sustainable menstrual pads since 2017.
Most girls and women in Honduras cannot afford pads and so they drop out of school when they are 12-13 years old. Not only that but they are vulnerable to traffickers coming from urban areas to pluck the young women from their families who are desperate and impoverished.
Pink Box has already distributed 8,000 pads to women and girls in Honduras, allowing them the freedom to pursue their education and thereby forever affecting their life trajectory.
You can help provide the reusable pads for women and girls by hosting a Pad Cutting Parties, or even traveling to Honduras with Heather and Jenni on a mission trip to see the impact in person.
