Did you know it is estimated that 30-40% of all trafficking victims are male? Guest Lisa McCormick joins us in the studio to share about her son Jeffrey, a 17-year-old boy from rural Wisconsin recruited into a sex trafficking ring out of Madison and exploited until his death in September 2016. She unpacks not only her unique perspective as a parent but shares her own journey coping with a “parent’s worst nightmare.”
McCormick also gives resources for parents and mentors such as Convergence Resources “Through the Eyes of a Parent” which gives legal, health, emotional support for families, and SLOTH – “Supporting Loved Ones Through Hardship” to help equip parents as they support their child or loved who is going through immense adversity. Through her work, Lisa walks alongside parents, grandparents, caregivers and all others, giving hope that they are not alone in this journey.
